I honestly think that those movies are great tools for language building. I know many of us grew up watching these translated Chinese flicks. Not only were the stories long and engaging, it taught me how to speak Khmer. Does anyone agree? Or am I some Outlier? NUFF SAID.

I’m not sure if you get the channel called “Bravo” but they are good movies on that channel. Not necessarily just asian, pretty much from many different country.

    Always subtitled.

Check this movie out, I believe it’s one of the greatest.

    The Red Lantern (Chinese)
    Molena (Italian)

I can’t think of others right now, but I’ll keep ya posted.

i agree with u…the translated chinese (and thai) movies help build up khmer vocabulary. well, it did for me and my sisters. :o) plus, it helped (helps?) motivate me to read and write khmer (good to know the title of a movie before renting it…hehe)
