When it comes to hard psyched-out rock, Sin Sisamuth can’t even compare to Hour Lavy

    This is a true story:
Hour Lavy was singing in a bar and Sin Sisamouth happened to be there. Everyone during his time was try to copy Samouth, and the same is true with Hour. At the end of his performace, Samout was very impressed with Hour’s voice, and he walked up to Hour and told him that “that was good, but if you continue to use my style and sing my songs, I’ll just be more famouse. you gotta pick a style and make it your own”

That’s why you can tell that Hour’s style of music is so unique and hard to copy. It is also the same reason that I reallly like Preap for that his style and voice is very unique.

Is it funny to you? Because it’s not a joke…..Hour Lavy was quite young when he started out…I grew up in srok khmer and I remember saw him on TV interview and that’s what he said…it was during his popular hits like “bat oun” “oh bong som sro lanh pong” and more. He was huge during the 90′s….

my impression of him…at least he can sing variety of songs…unlike Sovat can only sing songs and no one can dance to. I remembered when Sovat visited US, no one was able to dance to his singing and dance floor was emplty.

guys, another thing i like about Hour Lavy is that his voice is similar to mine when he sings songs like “Keng lourk tuve khnom youls sob”, “A’lei klen oun”, …. and not to mention that Hour Lavy is the first singer to modernize khmer song (in 80′s and 90′s).
Preap is not Hour’s match, indeed!!

Most Preap’s songs hurt my ears. but some are ok. Among all of his songs so far, “Kloy saneh tnout teh” is the only one i like.

Anyway, let us enjoy a small part of my golden voice :D hahs!!

Hour Lavy is the man, c’mon, nobody can fade him right now and back then. He’s the KHMER ROCK STAR singer, got that cool voice and when he sing, he sings like he’s not even trying, even when he raises the note. That’s what you call talent. Yes Preap is good but NOTHING compare to Hour Lavy. He sound like he force to let out the sh11t. Too bad he’s old now. Back in the early 90s when he came to Massacusettes, all the mommas are all over him. My mom love him soo much, she went up there gave him money and gave him a kiss. And who the f*** is Sothy, I listen few of his song, that guy are sh11t compare to Hour lavy, he sings like he “kom preng”, try too hard, strain his voice. Hour Lavy, no matter how hard the song is, he sings it with ease and hit the right notes.

Here are some of his song other requested. Need Real Player to play it.
