That’s a weird combination I just don’t think he’s up to par with her. Never the less I look foward to it being that it’s based in Cambodia and the fact that Angelina Jolie is hella sexy is definitely a plus.
Maybe Angelina Jolie plays King Jayavaraman’s wife.
Unlike the queens in East Asian, Khmer’s were very educated back then. They were highly respected and very much involved in politic.

This is awesome. I love seeing white people playing asian roles.
Wait a min, if the movie is about the Khmer Empire, why are the actors not Asian? That’s weird to me.
The movie has to make money.

I notice it’s mostly Khmer ppl talking about this? Don’t seem to be any links from American sites. This i like Transformers fans talking a live action movie in the 80s.
Dear God,
Let it be done. 8)
im truely amazed. I hope it will work out for everyone.
Hopefully The world will knows about Khmer Civilization.
I am excited I hope this becomes a reality. I would like to see Tony Jaa play a role in this somehow. Let him be an extra or something. I really want them to display some khmer martial arts in the film.
I hope movie is true but NOT John Cena part, that guy is not a good actor and there is no way Angelina Jolie is gona play in a movie with a wrestler as the main guy lol, her credentials wont allow it hahaha.

it is rare to hear about a making of upcoming movies, retarded.
if you watch the video you’ll notice he already the script written down

You shouldn’t be so surprised to see that in Hollywood! There’s so many movies where the lead actors aren’t the nationalities they portray.
Chow Yun Fat isn’t Thai. “The King and I”
John Wayne isn’t Mongolian. “Genghis Khan”
Yul Brynner isn’t Thai. “The King and I”
Zhang Ziyi, Gong Li, and Michelle Yeoh aren’t Japanese. “Memoirs of a Geisha”
Jake Gyllenhaal isn’t Persian. “The Prince of Persian: The Sands of Time”
A number of Khmers will get supporting roles to flush out the fact that the movie is about the Khmer Empire, but to have them play major roles in a Hollywood production where the main object is to make money off of your actors isn’t going to happen.

I know, huh!
Hollywood rarely abandon their projects even if it does take years to make.
Where you get the idea that it’s rare to hear about an upcoming movie? Usually a movie is announced well before actors are chosen. In this case, the actors are chosen, yet there’s no American sources to back it up. Angelina Jolie is one of the most popular actresses in the world. Surely we hear something about it. It’s a very rare occassion for so much information about an American movie without many American sources. If the director is parading around Khmer studios talking about this, and no American sites are listing it…it’s a rare case.

To me, I have no problems with Japanese playing Chinese, or Chinese playing Khmers, or Khmers playing Vietnamese. Asians are Asians. It’s just retarded when they take a white person to play an Asian person. Acting is acting and you can play many roles, but sex and race is where the line is drawn. An White German can play a White Australian, but a white/asian guy can never play Martin Luther King or Obama.

dude she made a lot of movies and you really never hear of all her upcoming movies being mainstream talk about all over the american news. be real and stop being dumb. Once the movies production is done, then maybe you will hear about it all over american sources.
the reason is being discuss in Khmer media because is something big for us and not for american, this is the first time Hollywood making a movie about our ancient past. common sense man

Not in today’s PC world – you can’t have a white man play a black man, but Robert Downey Jr. got away with it in “Tropic Thunder” only because of so-called satire. You can get away with anything if you label your work being satire.
