Hi a friend (who does not cook) has adopted a little girl of 3 from Cambodia the little one will be here soon. I need to know how to make the rice porridge so commonly eaten by children in Cambodia so I can make a bunch up and freeze it for her(tilley) as well as teach my friend how to make it.

Very easy, it’s all just water and rice. You have to add three times more water than rice. And boil. If it looks like rice just add more water. But it has to be thick. And I like my rice pouridge with soy sauce. Only add soy sauce when serving though. Cambodian word for it: “boubar.”

I remember growing up, my mom would cook some up when ever i get sick. It cures me all the time.

Freeze it? never herd of that before. Maybe its a white thing, U guys freeze everything. Always make it fresh.

Use real jasmine rice, not that Uncle Ben crap.

for 1 cupe of rice, use 4 cups of water. cook until its “aldente”. When the rice is soft throughout. You can be flexible with the water. Add or subtract dependy on how dense or watery you want the porrige to be.

When i was at the refugee camp. for one cup of rice, we used 20 cups of water and that feed a family of 8.
