Simply amazing smot artist, devout Buddhist as well, majoring in Public Relations at one of the universities in Phnom Penh.
She will be going back to Srok Khmer in a few days :-(. It’s been good having her stay with us and performing
at our Modesto temple. I’m going to miss you little one.

No, she is returning to Srok Khmer in a few days. If you are interested in having her come over to one of the wats, let me know so that I can help you guys get connected with her. It looks like she might not be able to come back to the states until Khmer New Year 2011. The US Embassy has recognized her skills and that wats abroad need her to perform at religious ceremonies; they’ve obliged and have allowed her to travel abroad when the need arises. She has also performed at Brown, Stanford, and other educational institutions — and has always been very well receieved.

Can’t listen to youtube at work….:(…just wanna let u guys know sth. A few of our famous singers came from that background -late Keo Sarath, and current Meas Sali. I find smot very soothing and amazing at the same time(even at the funeral), their voice and ability to carry the tune and pitch are unbelievable..

Look what I’ve found. Too bad I didn’t get a chance to see her when she was in San Jose.

I know, it’s a scary thought that has crossed my mind. She’s the sweetest thing, so kind, so pure hearted, just wants to help others find peace and happiness. She’s also a beloved junior high school teacher in Phnom Penh.

I agree. He’ll be heading back to Srok Khmer for 7 weeks to work with an NGO group. He will then come back for his Ph.D in Buddhism at UC Berkeley.

He skips a beat here and there because he’s reading a text that he hadn’t had a practice run before smoting it.

Good for you. Srey Pov talks a lot about how Buddhism gives her inner peace and how she wants to either study about the bhikkhunis or become one herself.
