Context

The collection was assembled from more than 150 ageing cassettes found at the Asian Branch of the Oakland Public Library in California. Mark Gergis compiled, edited, researched, and wrote the liner notes between 1999 and 2015; Peter Conheim and Gergis handled audio mastering and restoration. The recordings include material made in Khmer-operated studios across Cambodia and the Cambodian diaspora, and the album was released on March 17, 2022. (Sublime Frequencies; Sublime Frequencies)
