KhmerConnection writes about living people and the organizations they run only from published sources, and this page explains how those pages are corrected, answered and kept up to date.

Contested claims

A contested claim about a living person or their organization appears on a page only after an independent published source, such as a news report, has reported it. The page then credits the claim to that source and gives the response of the person or organization alongside it. Emails and messages sent to KhmerConnection, social media posts, private messages, screenshots and court papers that no news outlet has covered are never used as sources for such claims.

KhmerConnection does not take sides. It adds no warning labels and removes nothing over a claim that no published source supports, and it does not take down an accurate, sourced page. Because it follows published reporting rather than breaking news, unreported information about a person or an organization belongs first with journalists.

Statements about oneself

A person or an organization can support plain facts about themselves with their own public statement, such as a change of role, a closure or a relaunch, and the page credits the fact to that statement. Such a statement never supports a claim about anyone else.

Asking for a change

All requests go through the contact form rather than a talk page, since talk pages are public and allegations or personal matters do not belong there. A request should include links to published reports only, never private material such as screenshots, messages, recordings or court papers.

To fix a plain error, name the page and the error and link a published source that shows the correct fact. To answer a claim, link the published response, which then goes on the page alongside the claim. When an organization closes, changes its name, relaunches or changes its leaders, a link to its own public announcement is enough for the page to state the change and credit it to the organization. News of a death needs a published obituary, a news report or an official notice. A living person named only in passing can ask for the name to be taken off the page, and it is removed when the mention is not essential.

Requests must come from the person or organization concerned, and KhmerConnection may ask for confirmation from a public account or an email address known to belong to them.

After a request

Messages sent through the contact form stay private and are never published or passed on (Privacy policy). KhmerConnection replies when it changes a page or needs more information.

Personal safety

KhmerConnection is an encyclopedia and cannot help with matters of personal safety. Anyone in danger should contact local emergency services or a support organization.
