Khmer holidays and observances: Buddhist holy days, Khmer festivals, days of remembrance and Cambodia's public holidays. Buddhist days and many festivals follow the Khmer lunar calendar, so their dates move from year to year.

About the dates
Cambodia's public holidays for each year are set by sub-decree of the Royal Government, usually in September of the year before; the list for 2027 has 22 public holidays.[1][2] Dates of Buddhist days that are not public holidays, such as Meak Bochea and the start and end of the rains retreat, follow the Khmer lunar calendar.[3]
Where a festival and its public holiday differ, as with Pchum Ben, the table gives the full observance and the official days separately.
