Cambodian Legacy Project
The Cambodian Legacy Project is a Charlotte nonprofit that works to preserve Khmer art and dance.[1] Kim Lam and Kaovny Jonas co-founded the organization.[1][2] The organization dates its founding to April 2025 and describes itself as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.[2]
Classes
The organization holds Khmer language and dance classes on Sundays at the Cambodian Buddhist Society temple.[1] It has also held traditional Khmer dance classes at the Berewick Recreation Center with funding from the Arts & Science Council’s Culture Blocks program.[1][3] Local artists have taught art from Cambodia and traditional Khmer dance in its programs.[1]
