Cambodian Rice Run (CRR) is an Australian charity that supports families and children in Siem Reap, Cambodia with food, housing, medical care and financial aid. It works alongside local organizations such as ABCs & Rice and Building Communities Cambodia. History
The charity began in 2017, when founders Marita and Todd teamed up with ABCs & Rice for a food relief drop. The first "rice run" delivered 194 bags of rice. When COVID-19 stopped a planned 2020 trip, the group switched to monthly food relief, and it became an official charity in October 2020. It is run by a volunteer board with local partners in Cambodia, and its local coordinator, Piset, runs the programs on the ground. (Cambodian Rice Run, Our Story)
Programs
- Reverse Tuition: families receive up to 5 kg of rice a month for sending their children to school. The program reaches more than 200 children a month. (Cambodian Rice Run, home page; Cambodian Rice Run, Projects)
- Lunches with Love: school lunches delivered twice a week, prepared by a Khmer cook the charity employs. (Cambodian Rice Run, home page)

- Family sponsorships, house builds and emergency assistance: ongoing aid for more than 40 families and safe homes for families in need. (Cambodian Rice Run, home page)
Fundraising and events
The charity holds fundraisers throughout the year in South Australia, Tasmania, Cambodia and online. In 2026 these included a high tea in Hobart on September 13 and a tour of Cambodia in November.
