Cambodian Student Association of Minnesota (CSAM) is a student organization at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, providing community and cultural programming for Cambodian students. It was listed in 2005 as the Cambodian Students Association of Minnesota.[1][2]

History

CSAM was founded in 1988.[1][3] Its mission has been to "volunteer at community events, give charitable donations, mentor young future leaders, and serve and promote awareness of the Cambodian culture".[1]

Programs and services

Focus areas: student community; cultural programming; higher education.

  • Khmer New Year: CSAM's Khmer New Year event at the University of Minnesota was among the 2025 appearances of the Wattanak Dance Troupe.[4]
  • Advocacy: on October 20, 2016, CSAM co-hosted an event for the "Minnesota 8", Cambodian Minnesotans facing deportation, which included a screening of Sentenced Home.[5]
