Chùa Ô Tà Pậu

Chùa Ô Tà Pậu (Wat Suvannandi Siriuttama) is a Khmer Theravada Buddhist Wat in Bàu Sơn hamlet, Châu Thành commune, Vĩnh Long province, Vietnam.[1]

Religious life

During Khmer New Year (Chol Chnam Thmey, ចូលឆ្នាំថ្មី) in April 2026, many young people from neighboring communes gathered at the Wat for traditional Khmer games, among them hiding the scarf, breaking clay pots blindfolded and tug of war, played on the harvested rice field beside its grounds.[1] The games, which also include cat and mouse, carry the meaning of thanksgiving for a good harvest, a prayer for favorable weather and a bond among the Kinh, Khmer and Hoa (ethnic Chinese) neighbors of the area.[1]
