Religious life

On April 13, 2026, during Khmer New Year (Chol Chnam Thmey), the provincial board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the provincial Patriotic Monks' Solidarity Association appointed Đại đức (Venerable) Chandasubho Thạch Ngọc abbot of the Wat. Monks of the Wat and many Khmer lay followers attended.[1] On April 9, 2026, provincial leaders visited the Wat for the New Year and greeted Đại đức Kiên Sang, its third-ranking head monk.[2]

In April 2023, Báo Trà Vinh listed the Wat, there called Chùa Uttamabhirìràjamandìr, among eight provincial relics recognized by the people's committee of the former Trà Vinh province.[3]
