Wat
Chùa Cà Nhung
Chùa Cà Nhung is a Khmer Theravada Buddhist Wat in Định Hòa commune, An Giang province, Vietnam, led by the head of the province's Khmer monks.[1][2]
History
Until the 2025 provincial merger the Wat stood in Định Hòa commune, Gò Quao district, Kiên Giang province.[1]
Religious life
As of 2025 and 2026, the abbot was Hòa thượng (Most Venerable) Danh Đổng, a standing member of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, head of the provincial board of the Sangha in the former Kiên Giang province and chair of the provincial Patriotic Monks' Solidarity Association.[1][3][2]
On January 25, 2025, ahead of the lunar New Year, the abbot and senior monks of the association handed out 100 gifts of rice, noodles and other essentials to families in need at the Wat.[1] In October 2025 the Wat held its Kathina robe offering.[4] On April 13, 2026, the commune police visited the abbot with gifts for Khmer New Year (Chol Chnam Thmey).[2]
