Wat
Chùa Cành Đa
Chùa Cành Đa (Wat Kandal) is a Khmer Theravada Buddhist Wat in Cầu Kè commune, Vĩnh Long province, Vietnam.[1]
Religious life
As of April 2026, the head monk was Hòa thượng (Most Venerable) Thạch Thảo, and Thạch Hiêl chaired the Wat's management board. During the three days of Khmer New Year (Chol Chnam Thmey) in 2026, the Wat was decorated and held community activities. On the second day, families brought water to bathe the monks and their elders; on the third, the Wat held the bathing of the Buddha images, and young people joined water games in its grounds.[1]
In December 2025, Thạch Thảo, then a Thượng tọa (Venerable), was the abbot of the Wat and a member of the standing committee of the provincial Patriotic Monks' Solidarity Association.[2]
