Wat

Chùa Chông Prây is a Khmer Theravada Buddhist Wat in Trạm hamlet, Phước Hưng commune, Vĩnh Long province, Vietnam. It was formerly in Trà Cú district, Trà Vinh province.[1]

History

By 2025 the Wat had had ten generations of abbots.[1]

Religious life

On the morning of April 5, 2025, the Wat inaugurated its new main hall, built over five years, together with a gate, a stupa and a group of 46 statues showing the Buddha's monks on their alms round. Monks, lay followers and donors from inside and outside the province met the cost of more than 20 billion đồng. Đại đức (Venerable) Kim Hữu Nghị, the abbot, opened the ceremony.[1]
