Wat

Chùa Kà Ốt (Chùa Kiri Sattray Menchey) is a Khmer Theravada Buddhist Wat in Kà Ốt hamlet, Tân Đông commune, on the border in Tây Ninh province, Vietnam.[1][2]

History

The Wat took more than ten years to complete. Until the 2025 reorganization it stood in Tân Châu district. As of 2023 it was one of six Khmer Theravada Wats in Tây Ninh and the center of cultural life for the Khmer community of the border commune.[1]

Religious life

Children practice the ngũ âm (five-tone) ensemble at the Wat.[1] On April 15, 2026, a delegation of the provincial Fatherland Front visited the Wat for Khmer New Year (Chol Chnam Thmey) and brought gifts to its abbot.[2]
