Wat

Chùa Kim Cấu (Chùa Đơm Pol) is a Khmer Theravada Buddhist Wat in Vĩnh Trạch ward, Cà Mau province, Vietnam, in the former Bạc Liêu province.[1][2]

History

Before the 2025 reorganization the Wat stood in Vĩnh Trạch commune of the city of Bạc Liêu. On August 9, 2020, the provincial board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha appointed Đại đức (Venerable) Thạch Thương as its abbot.[2]

Religious life

As of 2025 and 2026, the abbot was Thượng tọa (Venerable) Thạch Thương, a member of the provincial board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. On October 18 and 19, 2025, the Wat held its Kathina robe offering, with five families sponsoring the robes and two the lamps. Lay followers carried the robes and silver flower trees three times around the main hall, and in the evening they walked around it in a procession of lights. Thượng tọa Thạch Nê, abbot of Chùa Sóc Lớn in Đồng Nai, attended.[3] On April 9, 2026, a provincial delegation brought Khmer New Year (Chol Chnam Thmey) gifts to the abbot.[1]
