Wat

Chùa Ktưng (Chùa Nagavanarama) is a Khmer Theravada Buddhist Wat in Nguyệt Hóa ward, Vĩnh Long, Vietnam.[1]

History

The Wat was founded in 1485. At times it had no caretaker and fell into disrepair. Hòa thượng (Most Venerable) Kim Prum and Khmer Buddhists later cleared the site and rebuilt the monks' quarters and the main hall. A ceremony to inaugurate the new main hall ran from April 2 to 4, 2021; Thượng tọa (Venerable) Trần Dân was abbot, and Hòa thượng Thạch Sok Xane presided. The 2021 report places the Wat in Ward 7 of Trà Vinh city, the area that is now Nguyệt Hóa ward.[2]

Religious life

As of 2026, the abbot was Thượng tọa Trần Dân. On April 7, 2026, a provincial delegation visited the monks and the management board for Chôl Chnăm Thmây (Khmer New Year) and gave gifts.[1] In September 2022 the abbot and benefactors organized a gift distribution at the Wat and three other sites, with 210 gift packages and 300 meals for people in need.[3]
