Chùa Pô Thi Sa Tha Ram is a Khmer Theravada Buddhist Wat in Sóc Trăng ward, Cần Thơ, Vietnam.[1]

History

In 2018 the Wat stood in ward 7 of the town of Sóc Trăng and was one of the older Khmer Wats of the area, its grounds shaded by hundreds of tall trees. Work on a new main hall in Khmer style, with neak (serpent), kinnari and krud (Garuda) figures and seven-headed serpents along its stairs, began in 2011. The hall cost more than 7 billion đồng, given by lay followers near and far, and was dedicated, and its sima (consecrated boundary) marked, in March 2018. The abbot then had a flagpole, paved grounds and repairs to the monks' quarters and sala under way, at a cost of about 3 billion đồng. He also raised funds for a ngo racing boat, and each summer the Wat taught Khmer script to local children.[2]

Religious life

On April 10, 2026, city leaders visited the Wat to offer greetings for Khmer New Year (Chol Chnam Thmey).[1]
