Chùa Prếk Om Pu (វត្តកំពង់មានជ័យសិរីឧត្តមព្រែកអំពូ, Chùa Tầm Vu)[1] is a Khmer Theravada Buddhist Wat in Thạnh Thới An commune, Cần Thơ, Vietnam. It dates its founding to 1664.[2]

History

The Wat's full name is Kom Pong Men Chây Sê Rây Út Đom Prếk Om Pu. It was founded in 1664 and has had 15 abbots. Its main hall has been built three times.[2]

During the rule of Ngô Đình Diệm, the authorities searched the Wat many times for revolutionary cadres. Under Hòa thượng (Most Venerable) Châu Mum, the monks and lay followers repeatedly hid them from arrest. In 2012 the province of Sóc Trăng listed the Wat as a provincial historical and cultural relic.[3][2]

Religious life

On March 27, 2026, the Wat dedicated its new main hall. It cost more than 7.7 billion đồng; the state gave 1 billion, and lay followers and donors gave the rest.[2] On April 8, 2026, city leaders visited the Wat and its new main hall to offer greetings for Khmer New Year (Chol Chnam Thmey).[4]
