Wat

Chùa Serey Pôthi Menkol (Chùa Hòa Bình Cũ) is a Khmer Theravada Buddhist Wat in Hòa Bình commune, Cà Mau province, Vietnam.[1]

Religious life

As of 2025 and 2026, the abbot was Thượng tọa (Venerable) Thạch Thái.[1][2] On November 2, 2025, the Wat held its Kathina robe offering at the end of the rains retreat. Five sponsoring families, living in Cambodia and in Hòa Bình, were honored; groups of lay followers came in procession, and in the evening a lamp offering lit the grounds before the monks chanted blessings.[1]

On April 14, 2026, during Khmer New Year (Chol Chnam Thmey), the abbot led the bathing of the Buddha images, followed by the bathing of the monks, a rite of gratitude to teachers, as lay followers chanted for a good year and harvest.[2]
