Ingredients

  • 65 g sago
  • 110 g caster sugar
  • 2 sugar bananas
  • 250 ml coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 500 ml water

Preparation

  1. Soak the sago in cold water about one hour, then drain it well.
  2. Simmer the sago with the water, sugar and salt over low to medium heat.
  3. Stir about 15 minutes, until the pearls turn translucent.
  4. Peel the bananas and slice them diagonally about 5 mm thick.
  5. Fold the banana slices gently through the sago.
  6. Cook about three minutes, until the bananas soften.
  7. Stir in the coconut milk and take the pan off the heat.
  8. Cool slightly and serve warm or at room temperature with toasted sesame seeds.
