David Grabias is a Los Angeles-based documentary director who co-directed Sentenced Home, about Cambodian American deportees.
David Grabias is a documentary director and producer based in Los Angeles and the founder of Artifact Studios, whose films have aired on PBS, A&E, Discovery, FX and National Geographic (ITVS). He co-directed and co-produced Sentenced Home with Nicole Newnham, following Cambodian American men in Seattle facing deportation, and the film was nominated for a News and Documentary Emmy (ITVS; CAAM). He later directed Operation Popcorn, about the Hmong community after the war in Vietnam, and says his work often returns to the theme of home (CAAM).
