Julie Mallozzi is a Boston-based documentary filmmaker and teacher who directed Monkey Dance.
Julie Mallozzi is a documentary filmmaker, producer and editor based in the greater Boston area, where she has taught filmmaking at Harvard University, the Rhode Island School of Design, Boston University and the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (Wikipedia; New Day Films). Her films, which she describes as exploring the place of traditional cultural practices in contemporary life, include Once Removed (1999), Monkey Dance, Indelible Lalita and Circle Up (2017) (Wikipedia; New Day Films). She directed, filmed and edited Monkey Dance, following Cambodian American teenagers in Lowell, Massachusetts over nearly four years (Julie Mallozzi Productions).
