Kachok people
Indigenous people of northeastern Cambodia
The Kachok people (ជនជាតិកាចក់) are an Indigenous people of Ratanakiri Province (រតនគិរី) in Cambodia.[1][2] Kachok people live in Andoung Meas district.[2]
Language
They speak Kachok, an Austroasiatic language.[1] Emily L. Olsen’s 2018 dissertation abstract, citing Ethnologue, gives about 3,000 speakers and describes the language as endangered.[1] The undated Joshua Project profile instead describes it as a stable spoken language with many active speakers.[3]
