Description
Channy Som lived in Battambang with her family when the Khmer Rouge came to power. They were made to leave their home and live in the forest before being separated and put into work camps. At the time of the interview she was living in St. Paul with two siblings and working in catering, with one sister in a refugee camp in Thailand and two others still in Cambodia with their father.
