Description
This lintel depicts Visnu mounted on Garuda, with four arms and four attributes, surrounded by symmetrical naga bodies, Garudas, foliage, lotus motifs, and dancing figures. The upper frieze shows dancing figures wearing the ‘sampot can kbin’ and mitre (mukuta), while the base has stylized lotus motifs and a row of floral motifs called ‘Lum ang chhouk’. Its ornamentation is described as elegant and refined, with a rhythm and lyricism typifying Banteay Srei carving. (National Museum of Cambodia)
