American author and community college educator who co-wrote Nawuth Keat's Khmer Rouge survival memoir.
Martha E. Kendall is an American writer and educator who taught at San Jose City College for 35 years and served as chair of its English department, coordinator of its Teaching and Learning Center and Dean of Language Arts. She is senior executive editor of the journal College Teaching and a Carnegie Scholar. She met Nawuth Keat when he enrolled in her World Literature class and offered to write down his story, which became Alive in the Killing Fields, published by National Geographic.
