Description
Clark Tang was born in Phnom Penh and believes his birth date to be 23 December 1969. When the civil war began his family moved to Bangkok, then returned to settle at Bao Pailin near the Thai border, and after the Khmer Rouge took over they could not cross back. Following the Vietnamese invasion in 1979 the family escaped to Khao-I-Dang refugee camp and a cousin in Texas sponsored them to the United States; they moved to Cincinnati to join an uncle and then to Long Beach in 1983. He graduated from Poly High School, studied at Long Beach City College, CSU Long Beach and CSU Dominguez Hills, works for Los Angeles County and describes martial arts as his passion. Pacific Asian Counseling Services recorded the interviews from a mental health perspective, the concept was first developed by Cambodia Town, and funding came from the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health under the Mental Health Services Act.
