Preah Theat Baray

Preah Theat Baray is an Angkorian temple ruin in Baray commune, Srei Santhor.[1] Kitagawa names a Prasat Preah Theat at Baray village.[2]

Architecture and tradition

Nhim describes a brick ruin on a square rise and cites Étienne Aymonier's date in the first half of the 10th century.[1] Kitagawa places the remains in the Angkor period without giving a narrower date.[2]

The sandstone decoration includes lintels and pediments. A lintel depicts Vishnu reclining on a Naga.[1] Nhim records a local tradition that links the relief to Stec Kan.[1] Kitagawa records a tradition in Baray village that calls it an image of Kon.[2]
