Overview
Reathrey Sekong is a Cambodian restaurant on East Indian School Road in Phoenix, Arizona, and one of the few dedicated Khmer kitchens in the Phoenix metro area. It is known for preserving bold, traditional flavors, including fermented shrimp paste and prahook (fermented fish paste), that many other Southeast Asian restaurants soften for American palates. Phoenix New Times named it a One-of-a-Kind restaurant and included it at number 26 in its 2018 The Essentials list of indispensable Phoenix food experiences. The menu emphasizes Cambodian soups, such as a coconut-lemongrass soup with eggplant and prahook, a tamarind-pineapple soup with catfish and lotus root, and a Phnom Penh-style noodle soup with pork and shrimp, alongside num pang sandwiches, papaya salad with fermented shrimp, and pork chops.
