Wat

Vatt Khemararam is a Khmer Buddhist Wat on Rue Reimond Stijns in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Brussels, Belgium.[1][2] It is one of the centers affiliated with Vatt Khemararam in Créteil, France, a Wat of the Dhammayutta order, together with centers in Toul and Lille.[1]

History

The Wat was founded in 1982 by the monk Dhamma Rangsi.[3] In the mid-1980s the Cambodian pagoda stood in Ixelles,[4] and the association's seat has been at Rue Reimond Stijns in Molenbeek since June 1990.[2] After Dhamma Rangsi returned to Cambodia in 1991, the French monk Dhamma-Vichayo was resident for two years.[3]

The association that runs the Wat, Association Bouddhique Khmère - Vatt Khemararam, became a non-profit association (ASBL) on April 7, 1986. Its seat has been at Rue Reimond Stijns 79 since June 20, 1990. Its board was renewed on January 7, 2026.[2]
