Wat Kong Kang
វត្តកោងកាង
Wat Kong Kang (វត្តកោងកាង) is a Buddhist Wat in Wat village, Sangkat Pailin, Pailin city, Pailin province, Cambodia.[1]
History
Its formal name is printed as វត្តរតនសោភ័ណ and as វត្តរតនៈសោភ័ណ្ឌ (Wat Ratana Sophoan). The Hun Sen Pailin Buddhist lower secondary school is in its grounds.[2][3][4]
Religious life
The provincial administration held Visak Bochea at the Wat in May 2025, with the provincial chief monk.[3] It hosts the province's yearly Vassa offering, at which the provincial leaders bring candles and offerings for the monks of all the province's Wats: 35 on July 17, 2025, and 34 on July 22, 2026.[5][1] On September 13, 2025, the sixth day of the Kan Ben season, provincial leaders brought food and money to its monks.[6] On April 16, 2026, the governor led the New Year bathing of the Buddha there.[2] On May 6, 2026, the province's Buddhist schools opened their school year at the Wat.[4]
