Wat

Wat Pak Nam (Sampov Poun)

វត្តខេមររាជការាម

Wat Pak Nam (វត្តខេមររាជការាម, Wat Khemara Reachkaram) is a Buddhist Wat in Prek Chrey, Sampov Poun, Kandal, Cambodia.[1]

History

The Wat stands beside a boundary marker from the French colonial period between Cambodia and Cochinchina. In June 2025, the provincial governor said that the Wat lies on Cambodian territory, in answer to claims by some groups and media that another country controlled it.[2]

Religious life

On June 25, 2025, a new residence for the senior monk and other new buildings were dedicated at the Wat, with a ceremony of pouring scented water.[1] On September 13, 2025, provincial leaders, officials and lay followers took part in the sixth turn of Kan Ben (កាន់បិណ្ឌ, Kan Ben), the daily turns of offerings to the monks during Pchum Ben, with chanting and offerings for the dead.[3]
