Wat Phnom Sampov Kaot

វត្តសុវណ្ណគិរីភេត្រារាម

Wat Phnom Sampov Kaot (វត្តសុវណ្ណគិរីភេត្រារាម) is a Buddhist Wat in Phnom Sampov commune, Banan district, Battambang province, Cambodia.[1]

History

One of its kuti (monks' residences), with walls of mud mortar, was built around 1814. The monk Yak Sorn, who was ordained young and comes from the commune, repaired its walls in 1998, keeping the original materials. The provincial tourism department has listed it as a tourism Wat, and students and visitors come to study the old kuti.[1]

Religious life

As of July 2025, three monks lived at the Wat, caring for it together with the lay followers of the village.[1]
