Wat
Wat Preah Vihear Khpos
វត្តព្រះវិហារខ្ពស់
Wat Preah Vihear Khpos (វត្តព្រះវិហារខ្ពស់), formally វត្តបទុមពោធិរាជ, is a Buddhist Wat in Kampong Svay commune, Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province.[1]
History
The site is old. It was long a forest ashram where villagers gathered once a year to make merit, and the ashram was destroyed under the Khmer Rouge regime. It was reestablished in 1990 by its abbot, achar (lay ritual leaders), committee and local authorities.[1]
Religious life
As of 2025, the abbot was Preah Kru Muniyasavant Um Dara. On February 12, 2025, at a bon phka prak (បុណ្យផ្កាប្រាក់), a festival that collects donations, in Chong Prey village, he invited the public to the four-day ceremony placing the Wat's sima (សីមា), the boundary stones of the ordination hall, on March 21 to 24, 2025.[1]
