Wat

Wat Prey Leu (វត្តសិរីសោភ័ណ, Wat Serei Sophoan) is a Buddhist Wat in Prey Leu village, Banteay Meas district, Kampot, Cambodia.[1] It stands in Banteay Meas Khang Lech commune.[1]

History

The abbot, the achars (lay ritual leaders) and the Wat's lay followers agreed together to build a new hall for Dharma gatherings (សាលាធម្មសភា, sala thammasaphea) and other buildings at the Wat.[1]

Religious life

On the morning of February 11, 2025, the provincial governor, Mao Thonin, presided over the ceremony that opened the new hall and the other new buildings for use. He gave money to the abbot, and white cloth and money to 40 elderly lay devotees (លោកតាជី លោកយាយជី, ta chi and yeay chi).[1]
