Wat

Wat Trapeang Aob (វត្តត្រពាំងឱប), formally វត្តទក្ខិណាវ័ន្ត, is a Buddhist Wat in Moha Sang commune, Phnom Sruoch district, Kampong Speu province, Cambodia.[1]

History

The Wat was founded in 1905 by its abbot, Venerable Ean Leak. It took its first name from a pond in the grounds that a villager, Ta Aob, had given to the monks. In 1948 the Supreme Patriarch Chuon Nath preached there and named it Dakkhinavan (ទក្ខិណាវ័ន្ត).[1]

Religious life

Work on a new vihara began in 2013. On February 24, 2026, the governor of Kampong Speu presided at the placing of its sima (សីមា), the boundary stones of the ordination hall.[1]
