Religious life
On the morning of September 8, 2025, the first day of Kan Ben (កាន់បិណ្ឌ, Kan Ben), the opening of the 15-day Pchum Ben festival, many residents, young and old, brought food and money to the monks at the Wat. Hun Chanthy Mao Thonin, honorary president of the Kampot branch of the Cambodian Women's Association for Peace and Development, led the branch's members in the offering, with city and sangkat officials. They joined the rap bat (រាប់បាត្រ, the alms offering to the monks) and presented gifts that included 100 kg (220 lb) of rice and 1.5 million riel.[1]
