Wat Trapeang Tuem (Kanhchriech)

វត្តពោធិរង្សី

Wat Trapeang Tuem (វត្តពោធិរង្សី, Wat Pothi Rangsey) is a Buddhist Wat in Trapeang Tuem village, Preal commune, Kanhchriech district, Prey Veng.[1]

Religious life

During Pchum Ben, the 15-day festival for ancestors, lay people hold Kan Ben (កាន់បិណ្ឌ, Kan Ben), daily turns of offerings to the monks. On September 18, 2025, the eleventh day, the chair of the Prey Veng provincial council and his family brought food and gifts to the monks of the Wat and joined the bangskol, a rite in which monks chant for the dead.[2] In December 2025, the abbot, the achar (lay ritual leaders), the Wat committee and lay followers joined a provincial delegation carrying food and funds to soldiers on the border.[1]

On July 25, 2026, the foundation stone was laid at the Wat for a large seated Buddha image and statues of the twelve zodiac years, and Vassa candles were offered to the monks.[3]
