Cambodian American poet whose work addresses the Khmer Rouge period and its inheritance.
Monica Sok is a poet and teacher based in Oakland, California. Her collection A Nail the Evening Hangs On was published by Copper Canyon Press in 2020, and her earlier chapbook Year Zero was selected for a 2015 Poetry Society of America Chapbook Fellowship. She has taught at Stanford University, Barnard College and Columbia University, and has taught Southeast Asian youth at the Center for Empowering Refugees and Immigrants in Oakland.
