Description

This young adult novel follows Arn, a Cambodian child separated from his family and sent to a labor camp after the Khmer Rouge take over his hometown. He survives by playing revolutionary songs on a khim and is later forced to become a soldier. The story is based on the experiences of Arn Chorn-Pond and his survival during the Cambodian genocide.
