Synopsis
The documentary follows filmmaker Socheata Poeuv, who was born in a Thai refugee camp after her family fled the Cambodian genocide and grew up in the United States without knowing the full history of her family. She travels to Cambodia to investigate family secrets, the Khmer Rouge labor camps, the deaths and separation of relatives, and her family's escape to a refugee camp. The film concludes in Texas with a ceremony honoring her parents' marriage and their family's new life in the United States. (Wikipedia)
