Cambodian classical dancer, choreographer and cultural administrator who led the postwar revival of the Royal Ballet of Cambodia.
Norodom Buppha Devi was a Cambodian princess who became the premier dancer of the Royal Ballet of Cambodia and was given the title of prima ballerina. After the Khmer Rouge period she directed the company, staged new choreography drawn from the classical repertoire, and served as Minister of Culture and Fine Arts from 1998 to 2004. Her final production, Metamorphosis, was created shortly before her death in 2019. (Norodom Buppha Devi - Wikipedia; Phnom Penh Post, Khmer ballet documentary debuts)
