praCh Ly is a Khmer American rapper and producer who co-founded the Cambodia Town Film Festival.
praCh Ly is a Khmer American rapper and producer who grew up in North Long Beach, California, and recorded his debut album, Dalama: The End'n Is Just the Beginn'n, around Cambodian New Year in 2000; it circulated in Cambodia as Khmer Rouge, Khmer Rap and became the country's top-selling album (Asia Society; PBS FRONTLINE/World; Long Beach Post). His music combines hip hop with traditional Khmer poetry and storytelling and addresses the Khmer Rouge period, and he has released two further Dalama albums (Words Without Borders). He runs Mujestic Records, has written scores for the documentaries Rice Field of Dreams and Enemies of the People, and co-founded the Cambodia Town Film Festival in Long Beach with Caylee So, where he also directed the short film Satook (Words Without Borders; Cambodia Town Film Festival; AsAmNews).
