Wat
Wat Lom Praloeung
វត្តលោមព្រលឹង
Wat Lom Praloeung (វត្តលោមព្រលឹង), also called Wat Lom Ang, is a Buddhist Wat in Soutr Nikom district, Siem Reap province, Cambodia.[1]
History
The Wat dates from 1825, and by 2025 it had been led by five generations of abbots. Because of its age, it is under the care of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts.[1] Its old vihara (ordination hall) has a roofed porch at the front, like the old halls of Wat Bo and Wat Damnak in Siem Reap town.[2]
Religious life
On April 6, 2025, Kuy Pisey, Minister Delegate attached to the Prime Minister, inaugurated a Pali school, a large kuti (monks' residence) and other new buildings at the Wat. About 900 people attended, among them the district governor, lay followers, teachers and students. The buildings were paid for with offerings collected from donors near and far.[1]
