Wat

Wat Samrong (វត្តសំរោង) is a Buddhist Wat in Samrong Cheung village, Samrong commune, Soutr Nikom district, Siem Reap province, Cambodia.[1]

Religious life

As of 2025, the abbot was Venerable Thong Chantha.[1] In March 2025 the abbot, the Wat committee and the lay community held the Maha Vessantara Jataka festival, the recitation of the Buddha's last life before enlightenment. Wats in Siem Reap province set their own dates for this festival, so that neighboring Wats do not hold it at the same time.[1]

On April 4, 2025, ahead of Cambodian New Year, monks of Wat Samrong walked the roads of the district to bless people by sprinkling them with water.[2]
